Q:   What is the best method for removing a graphite shaft from a Callaway Big Bertha driver without damaging the head and saving the shaft for future use?

A:   Since this is a bore-thru shaft design, the recommended procedure is to use the Mitchell® Shaft Locator Drill Fixture to drill a 1/8” hole into the shaft tip hole through the bore-thru plug. This fixture will center the drill bit so no damage is done to the shaft.

Next, place the driver into a Steelclub® Graphite Shaft Puller and install the Puller Adaptor.

Heat the tip of a heating rod; insert it into the shaft through the drilled hole to break the epoxy bond. You may have to repeat this process more than once. Pull head from shaft when epoxy bond is broken.
