Q:   What would be the established criteria for being able to adjust the lie angle on Hybrid clubs and Fairway woods for the 'Vertically Challenged' Player?

A:   By "Vertically Challenged" it is assumed you mean a shorter person. Hybrid and fairway woods that are made of stainless steel and have a long enough hosel can be adjusted. The amount of bend depends on the length of the hosel. There are hybrid and fairway woods that have at least 1 inch of polished hosel that permits bending 3 degrees flat for shorter golfers. In some cases you might get another degree or two without damage, but it will be a risk reward decision.

Most Hybrids are about 60 degrees as a standard lie. Fairway woods vary from 58 to 62 degrees. There are several brands that have models with long and polished hosels: Sonartec, KZG, Adams, Titleist, Taylor-Made, Mizuno, and some others. The clubs with long hosels that are painted will show marks if bent and it is not recommended to bend them.

The amount of bend is based solely on the design of the club. But remember, the club must be cast stainless steel.
